The 29th edition of the Sellaronda Skimarathon

31st March 2023.
Driving along the last kilometres which lead to Arabba there is a special feeling in the air, the snow anchored to the rocks of the Sella massif is mirrored in one’s eyes, hands start to sweat and there is shortness of breath.
The mind begins to elaborate, tapping into memories for who once wore the Sellaronda Skimarathon racing bib, and using their imagination if this is their first time tackling the world’s best night time ski mountaineering race. Coming over from north the two passes Campolongo and Pordoi are tackled and memories help one’s heart beat faster, you can then make out that funny smell that comes from the wax torches.

Imagination instead will help to experience these sections with a sneaky preview.
For those coming from South they will see Campolongo and Pordoi as two giants who are waiting to be conquered. The common factor of these visions will be the perception of all the hard work, but then in a flash the feeling that all will end. It will end in Arabba the true gem of Fodom Valley

All of this will take place on the 31st March 2023 when Arabba will get ready to welcome the 1300 Sellaronda athletes.
The night time ski mountaineering race with a capital S runs up and down the world’s largest ski resort: Dolomiti Superski, it runs along the popular ski slopes which circle around the Sella group and conquer the Dolomite passes of Sella, Gardena, Campolongo and Pordoi.

The 29th edition consists of 42 kilometres with 2700 metres of vertical height gain illuminated by the athletes‘ head lamps. Have we written 29th edition? Was it not 25 editions? Come to Arabba and we will explain why.
